Touch For Cancer provides training for licensed estheticians in the spa environment.
Touch for Cancer’s Oncology Esthetics® training is for the esthetician who wants to specialize in oncology skincare services, or it may or may appeal to people who have been touched by cancer directly or indirectly and they want a more in-depth understanding of cancer, cancer therapies, and their side effects.
It may be that an esthetician is looking for a new modality to specialize in, and to attracting a new market of client, or the esthetician may want to enhance their knowledge to be part of the new developing trend that combines medical-wellness-spa modalities.
Estheticians actively looking to engage with cancer survivors will find fulfillment within themselves knowing they can touch and perform safe spa treatments for this client.
Students have the opportunity to meet and work with cancer survivors during this training.
Mórag Currin, LE, Founder and International Educator
Originally from South Africa, Mórag Currin is a highly sought-after esthetic educator with more than 22 years of spa industry experience and more than 13 years of training and training management experience.
Recognizing the lack of specialized skin care available for people undergoing cancer therapies, she has pioneered an advanced training on Oncology Esthetics for licensed estheticians and spa therapists.
She also is author of Oncology Esthetics: A Practitioner’s Guide (Allured Books, 2009 and 2014) as well as Health Challenged Esthetics: An Esthetician’s Desk Reference. Her students learn to incorporate modified techniques specifically for people undergoing cancer therapies, to screen for cancerous skin lesions, and to bring cancer survivors’ skin back into balance.
